About the photographer

A native of Canada, Eric grew up in Ottawa with his parents and five siblings. After receiving a B.Sc. in computer science, Eric started roaming the world - living in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Bermuda - finally setting in Massachusetts. After earning an MBA, Eric continued a career in high tech and business before becoming a French teacher. He retired a year ago to pursue his love of photography and world travel.

A constant explorer, Eric discovered the Arctic - photographing its people and landscape while slowly travelling to Iceland in a single-engine Cessna. Since then, Eric has returned multiple times to the Arctic - most recently to the Lofoten Islands in Norway.

Eric and his wife, Mary, have been a resident of Winthrop for the last 11 years where you may see them cycling along the North Shore. Travel and photography continues to be a passion. This year, Eric is looking forward to roaming the Omo Valley of Ethiopia, hiking the Scottish Highlands, volunteering in Malta, and cycling through Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand as well as visiting Denmark where his daughter and family live.

Aside from flying gliders as a fun sport, Eric enjoys spending time with Mary and his son, daughter and granddaughters.
